Estonia will not interfere with voting during the Russian presidential elections at the Russian embassy on Estonian territory. This was announced on Thursday, December 21, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Baltic state.
The head of the department, Margus Tsahkna, recalled that the Vienna Convention gives Russia the right to conduct elections of the President of the Russian Federation on the territory of its diplomatic mission in Tallinn.
Estonia has no legal grounds to interfere, no matter what some politicians say, the Estonian minister assured.
Earlier, the press secretary of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Dmitry Peskov, denied rumors that the head of state allegedly discussed with foreign colleagues his plans to run in 2024.
The head of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation, Ella Pamfilova, warned that Russians who are abroad during the presidential elections in the Russian Federation will not be able to vote electronically, since “it’s very risky”.
