Estonia is not going to evict Russian citizens on the model of Latvia and Lithuania

Estonia does not plan to evict Russian citizens from the country following the example of Latvia and Lithuania, informed Estonian Minister of the Interior Lauri Läänemets, ERR.
For example, as noted, in Lithuania, more than 1,000 citizens of Russia and Belarus were recognized as representing a threat to the country after they passed special surveys. According to ERR, in Latvia, the residence permit will be canceled for 5,000-6,000 Russian citizens who did not pass the Latvian language exam, as the country tightens requirements.
Estonia does not plan such measures, Läänemets noted. “It doesn’t really give any real picture of the people who might be at risk. These people know very well what a lie is, and they answer the way we want to hear or see,” he said about compiling questionnaires for Russians and Belarusians.
In Lithuania since November 2022 introduced special questionnaires for citizens of Russia and Belarus, in which, among other things, you must provide information about your attitude to what is happening in Ukraine. Since November 2022, 1164 citizens of Russia and Belarus have been recognized as a threat to the national security of Lithuania. All of them were banned from entering the country.
