Estonia and Finland are trying to “fairly” distribute Ukrainian refugees

Tallinn and Helsinki are trying to distribute Ukrainian refugees among themselves. Estonia is currently dissatisfied with the proportion between the Ukrainians who arrived in the country and the population of the country.
Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas has repeatedly hinted to Ukrainian refugees that it is time to consider Finland as a country to move to. “So far we have been generous in helping Ukraine in trouble. Naturally, everything has borders…” she said.
About 120,000 Ukrainian refugees arrived in Estonia in 2022, of which, according to the Migration Agency, over 65,000 remained in the country.
In Finland, fewer than 50,000 Ukrainians have applied for temporary protection, while the population of this country is five times larger than the population of Estonia.
Now Helsinki has agreed to receive 50-100 people a week from Estonia.
