The Estonian prosecutor’s office sent a criminal case to the court – in it the citizens of the country Aivo Peterson and Dmitry Rootsi are accused of treason. In addition, within the framework of this case, a citizen of the Russian Federation Andrey Andronov is suspected of non-violent actions “against the Republic of Estonia by a foreigner.”
From October last year to March 2023, Russian citizens reportedly “received instructions from the Russian Federation” and, according to the investigation, “deliberately helped Russia and persons acting on behalf of the Russian authorities.” This, according to the Estonian prosecutor’s office, is about “non-violent activities” directed against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Estonia.
