The European Union allocated 62 million euros for Georgia to strengthen its defense capability. About it informed EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell in an interview with Civil.
“The EU is helping Georgia to strengthen its defense forces through the European Peace Fund. The first batch of non-lethal equipment for the country’s defense forces arrived in Georgia in April, and since then we have been continuing deliveries,” he said.
Borrell specified that the delivered equipment “will be vital to quickly respond to crises and save lives.”
The EU also allocates funds from the European Peace Fund for Ukraine. In June, the Council of the European Union approved an increase in the fund by 3.5 billion euros.
