Essentuki plans to open an Olympic triathlon department

The head of Yessentukov Alexander Nekristov met with the Executive Director of the Russian Triathlon Federation Ibragim Kasimov and the Acting Minister of Physical Culture and Sports of the Stavropol Territory Boris Semenyak to discuss the opening of the city branch of the Olympic reserve. Recall that in May last year, the resort city for the first time in the history of the Stavropol region hosted the All-Russian triathlon competitions. 256 athletes from different parts of the country came to the resort.
Everyone noted that the city was so suitable for holding this kind of competition that now there is a question of becoming the All-Russian capital of triathlon. Of course, the head of Essentukov Alexander Nekristov (by the way, he himself is a fan of running and a participant in marathons) did not refuse such prospects.
“We discussed the development of triathlon in Essentuki and the scaling of the athletic project,” he shared his plans. – The city has all the prospects and opportunities. Our athletes from the athletics section and the swimming school show excellent results in tournaments and championships of all levels. I am sure that the new discipline will also inspire them to great victories.”
He noted that Essentuki will definitely have new sports facilities and playgrounds for talented children. The development of sports is one of the priority areas in Essentuki. So, over the past five years, a football Arena, a sports and recreation center, an Ice school have appeared in the city, two triathlon championships and a marathon have been held, and the city also constantly hosts all-Russian competitions in football, basketball, volleyball and martial arts.
By the way, Alexander Nekristov noted that he himself would not mind participating in the competition.
“Since Essentuki is the resort capital of triathlon, it means that I, as the head of the city, should also be at a distance among athletes,” he shared the intrigue with the subscribers of his telegram channel.
