Essentuki chess players brought five medals from the North Caucasian Federal District Championship

The results of the North Caucasus Federal District Chess Championship were summed up in Makhachkala. As the press service of the Essentuki administration said, more than 300 participants from seven subjects of the North Caucasian Federal District met in the capital of Dagestan. Athletes in different age categories at the Lyceum No. 39 competed not only in classics, but in rapid and blitz.
Essentuki was represented by students from the Vertical school, who took prizes. Thus, Konstantin Shipulin won 2nd place in classics and 3rd place in rapid chess among boys under 19 years old; Khristofor Samurganov – 2nd place in rapid chess and 2nd place in blitz among boys under 13 years old, and Elena Torshina – 3rd place in rapid chess among girls under 11 years old.
As the organizers of the district competitions noted, competition among chess players has increased, which inspires confidence in future high-profile victories in the Russian and international arenas.
