The sanctions imposed by Western countries against the Russian Federation proved to be ineffective. This was stated to journalists by the official representative of the President of Turkey, Ibrahim Kalin.
“The measures taken so far by the West against Russia have not been effective,” said a spokesman for Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
According to Kalyn, anti-Russian sanctions did not change the actions of Moscow and did not give the Ukrainian side the opportunity to win the conflict. In this regard, he noted that Turkey will not join the sanctions against Russia, explaining that the restrictions cause great damage to the Turkish economy.
In addition, Kalyn noted that Europe and the United States should also participate in possible negotiations to resolve the situation in Ukraine.
