Erdogan talks about positive meeting with US senators on F-16

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called “positive” a conversation with US senators on the acquisition of F-16 fighter jets by Ankara.
Earlier, the United States excluded Turkey from the F-35 fifth-generation fighter supply program. The reason for this decision was the purchase by Ankara of the Russian air defense systems of the S-400 air defense system.
In response to the purchase of the S-400, the US ended cooperation with Turkey on the F-35 project. However, then the United States came up with a proposal to purchase other fighters, but not the fifth, but the fourth generation. However, this issue needs to be agreed in the US Congress, since not all congressmen agree with the delivery of fighters to Turkey.
