Erdogan hints that Turkey will approve Finland’s entry into NATO

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, speaking about the possible entry of Finland into NATO, said that Ankara follows the existing procedure and “will fulfill its promise.”
“We will follow the process. We will fulfill the task entrusted to us. We will keep our word,” Erdogan said.
The Turkish parliament is expected to ratify Finland’s application for NATO membership by mid-April. At the same time, Finnish President Sauli Niinistö will visit Turkey on March 16-17.
Finland and Sweden simultaneously applied for NATO membership in May last year. They have been ratified by all NATO countries with the exception of Turkey and Hungary.
But if in the case of Finland, Turkey is ready to give the go-ahead to the entry of this country into the alliance, then Ankara refuses to let Sweden into NATO because of the existing contradictions with Stockholm.
