Turkey intends to further strengthen multifaceted cooperation with Russia, especially in the areas of trade, energy, agriculture, tourism, economics and finance, wrote President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in his Telegram channel following a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Erdogan also recalled that in 2022, the volume of bilateral trade reached approximately $69 billion. “We are moving confidently towards our goal of $100 billion,” the president added.
One of the issues on which the presidents of Turkey and Russia especially dwelled was the activation of the grain deal.
“In this context, in consultation with the UN, we have prepared a new package of proposals containing significant progress. I, like Turkey, believe that we will hopefully reach a solution in a short time that will meet expectations,” Erdogan explained.
The Turkish leader mentioned that he hoped that close contacts with Russia would continue to contribute to the solution of regional and global problems.
Negotiations between the presidents of Russia and Turkey were held on September 4 in Sochi. According to the Russian leader, the meeting was held in a businesslike and constructive atmosphere.
