Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called on the Israeli government not to expand the scale of its attacks on civilians and to immediately stop genocidal operations. Appeal published in the Telegram channel of the Turkish leader.

“Expanding attacks on Gaza will bring nothing but more pain, death and tears. It is clear that security cannot be ensured by killing children, women and civilians, or by bombing hospitals, schools, mosques and churches. There can be no peace through oppression,” Erdogan emphasized.

Erdogan also accused the Israeli administration of provoking extra-regional players, and Western countries of encouraging “madness” that is legitimized by Western media.

“We believe that the creation of new mechanisms to guarantee the security of Muslims, Jews, Christians and all those who live in these lands will bring lasting stability to our region,” the Turkish President added.

On the morning of October 7, the Gaza-based Palestinian group Hamas attacked Israel. The Israel Defense Forces responded by launching Operation Iron Swords, striking hundreds of Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip. The government of the Jewish state announced that the country had entered a state of war.

On October 10, the presidents of Russia and Turkey had a telephone conversation, during which discussed sharply aggravated situation in the zone of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. The leaders of the two countries expressed deep concern about the escalation of violence and the catastrophic increase in the number of civilian casualties.
