Equestrian sport development discussed in Kuban

On Thursday, December 15, Kuban parliamentarians discussed the development of equestrian sports in the region. The meeting was held by the Deputy Chairman of the ZSK Vladimir Beketov. The work was attended by the chairman of the relevant committee of the ZSK, Alexander Makoveev, and his first deputy, who is also the deputy chairman of the regional equestrian federation, Alexander Pogolov. Representatives of the regional Ministry of Education and the Department of Cossack Affairs, director of the regional equestrian school Svetlana Krivoruchko, executive director of the regional equestrian sports federation Lyubov Alkhutova joined the meeting.

Vladimir Beketov during the meeting noted that the region pays great attention to the development and popularization of this sport. According to him, this is due to the historical features of the region. So, in order to fulfill the tasks set, a stud farm was acquired in his property in the village of Vostochny, Mostovsky municipality. In addition, horse trainers and veterinarians are trained on the basis of the Kurganinsky Agrarian and Technological College.

The deputy recalled that 8 years ago, the region adopted a resolution “On the development of equestrian sports in the Krasnodar Territory”, and in 2018 – on the progress of its implementation. The parliamentarian said that 5 years have passed and now legislators need to develop a new document with an analysis of the activities of equestrian sports and the prospect of its development.

Those present at the meeting came to the conclusion that the draft document being prepared should include information about the activities of the regional equestrian school and the participation of Cossack cadet corps in this work. The training of specialists requires special attention. At the same time, it is important not only the number of vocational school graduates, but also how many of them are employed in their specialty in the Kuban.

The participants of the meeting also touched upon the competitions held in the region in this sport. For example, the deputies talked about the annual show jumping tournament for KYC prizes. In addition, in the Kuban, several municipalities are developing routes for Cossack runs. Vladimir Beketov stressed that this would allow organizing competitions for participants of different age categories. At the end of the event, the participants agreed to prepare a draft resolution, taking into account the proposals made, and submit it for consideration at the February plenary session. Also in the plans for January next year is to convene another meeting on the development of equestrian sports in the region.
