Environmental activists sue US Civil Aviation Authority

Environmental organizations filed a lawsuit against the US Federal Aviation Administration in connection with the SpaceX rocket launch in April. This is reported by The Independent. According to the plaintiffs, the launch of the Starship rocket did not take into account the potential negative environmental impacts in the Boca Chica beach area. Organizations demand to cancel the five-year license issued by SpaceX.
The lawsuit was filed in the US District Court in Washington. The SpaceX launch site is located in a remote location on the south end of Texas, near South Padre Island. Earlier, the US Fish and Wildlife Service reported that when a rocket was launched over long distances, pieces of concrete, stainless steel sheets, metal objects and other materials scattered from the launch pad. In addition, the release of crushed concrete up to 4 kilometers to the northwest of the site was noted.
Recall that SpaceX, founded by Elon Musk, recently conducted the first launch of the super-heavy Starship rocket. However, shortly after launch, the rocket began to rotate and deviated from its intended course. Ultimately, Starship exploded. As a result, the US Federal Aviation Administration launched an investigation into the incident.
