Energy Minister Shulginov noted a downward trend in prices at gas stations

Prices at gas stations began to decline. This trend was noted by Russian Energy Minister Nikolai Shulginov, reports TASS.

It is noted that the Russian government’s measures to stabilize the fuel market led to a reduction in prices.

“The results are already visible, there is a trend towards lower prices, but this is a market story,” Shulginov said.

At the same time, the minister did not rule out that the next stage would be lifting the ban on gasoline exports. According to him, the decision will be made “according to the situation.”

September 21 Russian government introduced temporary restriction on the export of gasoline and diesel fuel abroad “to stabilize prices on the domestic market.” The ban also applies to fuel purchased at stock exchanges. The measure is designed to saturate the fuel market, which in turn will reduce prices for consumers. Exception done for the supply of petroleum products as part of comprehensive assistance to Armenia and the Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh.

On October 6, the Cabinet of Ministers approved long-term measures to stabilize the Russian fuel market. In particular, it is planned to restore the volume of payments to oil refineries for dampers. This mechanism is designed to make the supply of motor fuel to the domestic market profitable for refineries and to avoid a shortage of fuel and lubricants. A partial lifting of the restriction on diesel fuel exports was also approved: refineries that supply at least 50% of the diesel they produce to the domestic market will be able to export the remainder via pipelines to seaports.
