All employees of the football club “Ufa” received notices from the personnel department about dismissal from December 19. Information about possible cuts to Kommersant was confirmed by the general director of FC Ufa Shamil Gazizov.
The notice, signed by Mr. Gazizov, states that “a decision has been made to carry out measures to reduce the number of employees” in accordance with the order dated October 17. Upon dismissal, employees are promised to provide all guarantees and compensations provided for by law.
“According to the law, we sent notices two months before the termination of the employment contract,” said Shamil Gazizov.
According to the head of the press service of FC Ufa Sergey Tyrtyshny, there are about 250 people in the club, including football players.
Ruslan Khabibov, the chairman of the club’s board of trustees, the Minister of Sports of Bashkiria, told Kommersant that by the end of this year it is planned to provide additional financial support also from extrabudgetary sources to continue the club’s participation in the championship.
“We have repeatedly noted our interest in the development of football, including professional football. The founders of the football club and the general director make decisions independently and do not always coordinate them with the Ministry of Sports of Bashkiria. Support for the club will continue,” the minister stressed.
At the end of May, in a play-off with Orenburg, Ufa flew out from the Russian Premier League (RPL). Previously, the club financed JSC “Regional Fund” (owned by the Ministry of Land and Property Relations of Bashkiria). Sergei Tyrtyshny noted that after the departure from the RPL, the club ceased to be financed from the Regfund. “We live on the money that we ourselves have earned from the sale of players. But they are not endless,” said Mr. Tyrtyshny.
In September, the “Regional Fund” filed lawsuit to the arbitration court of Bashkiria for the recovery of 105.6 million rubles. debt from Ufa.
The chairman of the board of trustees of the club, the Minister of Sports of Bashkiria, Ruslan Khabibov, did not respond to Kommersant’s request.
