Tech billionaire Elon Musk has three children with Canadian singer Grimes – son X, daughter Y and now a newborn boy with a surprising name, Sky News reports.

The 52-year-old billionaire entrepreneur shared the news in his new biography – and confirmed the name of his newborn on social network X (formerly known as Twitter). The little boy’s name is Techno Mechanicus, or Tau for short.

The word “tau”, notes Sky News, means many things, including the 19th letter of the Greek alphabet, the 19th star in the constellation and a type of unstable subatomic particle.

The child’s age has not been disclosed. But according to an advance copy of Walter Isaacson’s biography of the billionaire obtained by the Los Angeles Times, the child was born via a surrogate in June 2022. The boy’s nickname, Tau, was inspired by “the Greek letter representing an irrational number that is equal to two times pi,” the biography explains. The approximate numerical value, 6.28, doubles as a tribute to Musk’s birthday, June 28.

The revelation comes less than a week after Grimes responded to Isaacson’s post promoting Musk’s biography and sharing photos of Musk with his two children. The singer later deleted her comment, which read: “Tell Elon to let me see my son or please answer my lawyer. Until this moment, I was not even allowed to see a photograph of these children, despite the fact that the situation completely separated my family.”

The owner of the social network X, formerly known as Twitter, and the founder of high-tech companies SpaceX and Tesla already has two children with 35-year-old singer Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher. Grimes, 35, and Musk, 52, dated on and off from about 2018 to 2022.

Son X-A-Xii Musk was born in May 2020, and daughter Xa Dark Siderel Musk was born in December 2021 through a surrogate mother.

Parents abbreviate them as X (Ex) and Y (Y), which are also the names of electric vehicles produced by Musk’s company Tesla, Sky News emphasizes.

The couple, who are in an on-again, off-again relationship, have so far announced the arrival of their children months after their birth.

Musk’s biography, titled Elon Musk, was written by American writer and journalist Walter Isaacson, who followed the tech boss for two years.

Musk is the father of 11 children, but lost his first son to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) when he was just 10 weeks old, Sky News recalls.

The billionaire has been married three times, twice to Westworld star Talulah Riley and once to Canadian writer Justine Wilson.
