Ivanovskaya “Energia” began the active phase of preparation for the start of the new season of the Women’s Super League in late August – early September, when the Palace of Team Sports hosted the Litvinov pre-season tournament, where representatives of the Super League participated. “Energia” was left without medals at the home tournament, taking 4th place after two wins and three losses. The Energia basketball players failed to show a good result at the qualifying stage of the Russian Cup. The black-and-orange were unable to advance further, winning only 1 victory in 3 matches.
On September 26 and 27, “Energia” played a series of friendly matches against the current champion of the Women’s Super League – the reserve squad of the MBA. If Energia won Litvinov’s tournament, then closer to the beginning of the season the IBA reserve team worked on their mistakes and won 2 confident victories with a difference of 8 and 9 points.
