Electricity may rise in price for Russians by 6% from July 2024

According to the forecast of the Ministry of Economy, the indexation of electricity tariffs for the population on average in the Russian Federation from July 1, 2024 will be 6%. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the forecast of socio-economic development of the Ministry of Economy for 2023-2025.
“The indexation rate for electricity tariffs for the population on average in the Russian Federation from December 1, 2022 will be 9%, from July 1, 2024 – 6% and from July 1, 2025 – 5%,” follows from the forecast. Network tariffs for electricity transmission from July 2024 may increase by 6%, from July 1, 2025 – by 5%, the ministry predicts.
Formerly Ministry of Economy reportedthat the indexation of tariffs for housing and communal services will take place eight months earlier than planned – on December 1, 2022. The next tariff indexation is planned for July 2024. The cost change will affect cold and hot water, electricity, heat, gas and municipal solid waste.
