From April 1, the use of personal mobility devices, including electric scooters, will be prohibited in Krasnodar parks. reported press service of the city hall. The head of the regional center, Evgeny Naumov, explained the restrictive measure with concern for the comfort and safety of Krasnodar residents.

Currently, the city has restrictions on the speed of electric scooters up to 15 km/h on the busiest sections of central streets.

Kick-sharing companies, in agreement with the mayor’s office, configure applications in such a way that scooter drivers cannot exceed the speed limit. However, the head of Krasnodar, Evgeny Naumov, noted that with the onset of the warm season, the popularity of the electric scooter is growing, “which, of course, is convenient for many, but, unfortunately, most often unsafe, both for the drivers themselves and for pedestrians.”

With the growing popularity of personal mobility devices, the risks of accidents also increase, so the Krasnodar administration considers it necessary to introduce additional restrictions by banning the movement of scooters in parks.

In the near future, signs indicating a ban on scooters will appear in green areas of Krasnodar. In total, kick-sharing companies in the regional center have about 7 thousand scooters at their disposal.
