Eight out of 14 governors won the election by more than 80%

In most regions, almost all protocols from election commissions have been introduced into the GAS “Vybory”. All incumbent governors and interim governors defeated their opponents. In eight of the 14 regions, government representatives received more than 80% of the vote, even in the Tomsk region, where the level of protest voting is high. United Russia took the majority on party lists and in the elections in the legislature.

In almost all gubernatorial elections, the second place after the candidates from the authorities was taken by the communists, although with a significant openness. In Buryatia, the head of the region Alexei Tsydenov scored 86% (in 2017, he received 87%), his closest rival, candidate from the Communist Party Viktor Malyshenko, 7%. Head of Karelia Artur Parfenchikov received 69% (in 2017 – 61%). His rivals Andrei Rogalevich from A Just Russia – 13.4%, and Yevgeny Ulyanov from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation – 12.6%. Governor of the Kaliningrad Region Anton Alikhanov received 80% (in 2017 – 81%), followed by Evgeny Mishin (LDPR) with 6%.

Governor of the Novgorod region Andrey Nikitin won the elections with a score of 77.03% (in 2017 – 68%), his closest rival Olga Yefimova, traditionally nominated by the Communist Party, received 11%. Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region Evgeny Kuyvashev received 66% in the elections (in 2017 – 62%), followed by Alexander Ivachev (KPRF) – 13%. One of the most competitive campaigns turned out to be in Udmurtia, where the head of the region Alexander Brechalov scored 64% (in 2017 – 78%), and his closest rival Alexander Syrov (KPRF) – 20%.

Unexpected results appeared in the Tomsk region – Acting Governor Vladimir Masuria scored 85% (in 2017, the head of the region Sergey Zhvachki received 60.5%), in second place is Galina Nemtseva (Fair Russia) – 6%. Acting head of Mari El Yuriy Zaitsev, who went to the polls as a self-nominated candidate, received 82% (in 2017, the acting head Alexander Evstifeev received 88%), his rival from the Liberal Democratic Party Anton Mirbadalev – 8% (the candidate from the Communist Party did not run in the region). Acting Governor of the Vladimir Region Alexander Avdeev received 84% (in 2017, the elections were held in two rounds, in the second round Vladimir Sipyagin from the Liberal Democratic Party won with a score of 57%, but left ahead of schedule for deputies of the State Duma), followed by Anton Sidorka (KPRF) with 6.5%.

In the Kirov region, Acting Governor Alexander Sokolov scored 72% (in 2017, acting Igor Vasiliev scored 64%), followed by Sergei Mamaev (KPRF) – 13%. Acting Governor of the Ryazan Region Pavel Malkov scored 84.5% (in 2017, acting head Nikolai Lyubimov received 80%), his closest rival Denis Sidorov (KPRF) – 6%. In the Saratov region, Acting Governor Roman Busargin is gaining 72% (in 2017 the head of the region Valery Radaev received 74%), his rival Olga Alimova (KPRF) – 14%. Acting Head of the Tambov Region Maxim Egorov scored 85% (in 2020, the head of the region, Alexander Nikitin, received 79%), followed by Andrey Zhidkov (KPRF) with only 7%. In the Yaroslavl region, acting head of the region, self-nominated Mikhail Evraev won the elections with 82% (in 2017, acting head Dmitry Mironov received 79%), followed by Mikhail Paramonov (KPRF) – 6%.

In almost all regions, United Russia won more than 50% of the votes on party lists.

In the Penza region, in the elections of deputies to the Legislative Assembly, United Russia received 75% of the lists, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation – 8.5%, and the Liberal Democratic Party – 5.5%. In the Krasnodar Territory, United Russia gained 71%, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation came in second with 11%, followed by the LDPR with 6.6% and A Just Russia with 6%. In the elections of deputies of the Legislative Assembly of North Ossetia, the lists were won by United Russia – 68%, A Just Russia – 14% and the Communist Party of the Russian Federation – 12%. In the Saratov region, in the elections to the regional Duma, United Russia has 60%, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation has 15%, the Liberal Democratic Party has 9%, and A Just Russia has 7%.

United Russia – 51%, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation – 15.5%, the Liberal Democratic Party – 13.6%, and A Just Russia – 6% go to the State Council of Udmurtia. In the Sakhalin region, United Russia received less than the traditional one – 47%. In second place is the Communist Party of the Russian Federation – 14%, then the Liberal Democratic Party – 9%, “Fair Russia” – 5%. There, New People also made it to the Regional Duma, gaining 9%. Thus, only in Sakhalin a new party entered the Legislative Assembly, in other regions – only representatives of the old parliamentary parties

Deputy Secretary of the United Russia General Council Sergei Perminov said that the party achieved its goals in these elections, and the result was “the result of consolidation.” Yury Afonin, First Deputy Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, said that their party would form “decent factions” in all legislative assemblies. “The results show that the Communist Party of the Russian Federation has practically everywhere retained the position of a second political force,” he said (quoted by TASS).
