Egyptian border guards were slightly injured due to an accidental shot from an Israeli tank at the border. This was reported by a representative of the Egyptian army.
The Egyptian Armed Forces confirmed that an Israeli shell fragment accidentally landed on one of its watchtowers on Sunday.
“Some border guards were slightly injured,” an army spokesman said.
He did not name the number of victims.
Israel previously said that the accidental shooting incident was being investigated. Israel also expressed regret to Egypt over the incident.
