The ex-Traktor player and the captain of Metallurg were included in the squad based on the results of voting among fans, the KHL press service reports.

This year the KHL All-Star Game will be held in St. Petersburg. The lineup of participants for the star weekend, as in previous years, is formed in several stages. First, 16 hockey players are selected by fans, then media representatives make their choice and the remaining ones are named by the KHL.

The first stage has already been completed. Fans were asked to choose a goalkeeper, a defender and two forwards in each division (Kharlamov, Chernyshev, Tarasov, Bobrov). After this, the organizing committee determined the voting leaders.

Defender of Metallurg Magnitogorsk Egor Yakovlev was among the first 16 players to participate in the 2023 KHL All-Star Game. For him, the upcoming event will be the second in a row. The captain of Magnitogorsk performed at the star weekend in 2022.

In addition, Nikita Nesterov, a graduate of the Traktor school, who began his career as a member of the “black and white”, and in recent years has been playing for CSKA Moscow, became a participant in the All-Star Game.

Let us note that none of the current representatives of Traktor were among the leaders in the audience voting. But the chances for the “black and white” hockey players to participate in the event are not lost yet, because journalists and KHL representatives must make their choice.
