Egor Popov began his professional career in North America, in the League of Quebec. In 2016, he moved to Russia and played in Yugra. Note that in the same year he made his debut in adult hockey: he played his first match in the KHL with Yugra in a game against SKA St. Petersburg.
After Yugra, he ended up in the VHL, where he played in the Tyumen Rubin and Dynamo from Tver. In recent seasons, Yegor Popov again played in the KHL with Neftekhimik. On account of his 64 matches and 18 points.
General Manager Alexei Volkov, commenting on the signing of the player, noted that Popov can play equally well both in the central position and on the edge.
