Economist Yudenkov gave a forecast about the ruble exchange rate in the near future

The national currency may become less strong
Recently, the ruble exchange rate has shown relatively stable performance, however, Yury Yudenkov, professor at the Faculty of Finance and Banking at the RANEPA, believes that the Russian currency may become less strong in the coming months due to many different factors.
In conversation with “Evening Moscow” Yudenkov suggested that the dollar would be no more than 70 rubles, and with the euro, in turn, it turns out to be a “mess”. The specialist explained that the euro may be lower than the dollar, as he “ran” to America. According to the economist, they are now in a difficult situation, so in the current situation, the euro may be in the region of 66-68 rubles.
At the same time, the economist stressed that for citizens the situation with the exchange rate does not matter much. He considers it more important that the country will survive the winter without problems due to good harvests and the availability of oil and gas. However, according to Yudenkov, in order to resume economic growth, more active work with imports, in particular from the countries of Southeast Asia, will be required.
The expert added that at the moment it is difficult to make short-term forecasts about the ruble exchange rate. Yudenkov explains this by the uncertainty with parallel deliveries and decisions of Europe on gas and oil, whether the EU will “press it up” or still “break down”. The economist concluded that there are a lot of factors that radically change flows.
