Professor of the Department of World Economy and International Economic Relations of the State University of Management Galina Sorokina in an interview with the agency “Prime” She said that next year the cost of meat could rise significantly.

According to her, the increase in prices will affect beef to a greater extent, poultry and pork meat to a lesser extent. This is explained by the fact that Russia is the least provided with beef, since the domestic business covers only 80% of consumption.

She clarified that an increase in the cost or a decrease in imports will lead to an increase in the price of this product. Among other things, the permission of the Ministry of Agriculture regarding the import of zero-duty beef into the Russian Federation led to the refusal of Russian producers to supply the country’s market and the growth of exports to the East.
