Earthquake death toll in Turkey rises to 42,310

The Turkish Disaster Management Authority said 42,310 people were killed in earthquakes in 10 provinces in early February. 448,018 citizens were evacuated, according to the message.
Earthquakes in the country became one of the strongest in 100 years, the magnitude of the most powerful of them was 7.7. The earthquakes were followed by thousands of aftershocks.
The epicenter was located in the province of Kahramanmaras in southeastern Turkey.
Tremors were also felt in other states, primarily in Syria, where the death toll was above 1.4 thousand.
