Striker Artem Dzyuba, who suspended his performances for the Russian national football team after the start of a special operation in Ukraine, signed a contract with the Turkish club Adana Demirspor.
According to the press service of the club, the contract with the 33-year-old football player is designed for one season with the possibility of extension for another period.
After the completion of the Russian championship of the 2021/22 season, Dzyuba announced leaving the St. Petersburg “Zenith”, for which he played since 2015 and in which he was the captain. In mid-March, the Russian Football Union reported that Dziuba had decided not to play for the national team temporarily, explaining this by the Ukrainian events. The head coach of the national team, Valery Karpin, pointed out that Dziuba had many relatives in the neighboring country, and he asked “for family reasons” not to call him to the training camp.
