Krasnodar “Dynamo” in a bitter struggle lost in a tie-break to the leader of the women’s volleyball Superleague. The home match at the Olimp Sports Palace against Moscow teammates ended with a score of 2:3 (19:25, 25:23, 25:21, 20:25, 8:15).
Valeria Shevchuk scored 23 points in Krasnodar, Maria Bogovskaya and Yulia Podskalnaya scored 13 points each. At Dynamo Moscow, Natalia Goncharova scored 25 points, Irina Kapustina scored 21, and Natalia Pereira, the Brazilian Olympic champion in London 2022, scored 16.
Hostess head coach Pavel Zabuslaev noted that in the decisive game the team did not have enough strength.
– The players were simply tired, having given up a lot in two victorious games. We spent them at our limit of strength, emotions. It would be hard for everyone to keep concentration throughout the match against the championship leader.
For the loss in the tie-break, Dynamo got 1 point and returned to eighth place in the standings – the team has 10 wins and 30 points. The main rival for the last place in the playoffs, Krasnoyarsk Yenisey, lost to Lokomotiv from Kaliningrad at home. The Blue-and-Whites were ahead of their rivals in terms of additional indicators. Dynamo Moscow continues to lead with 20 wins and 60 points.
On March 19, Krasnodar will have a guest game against the currently third Superleague team Dynamo-Ak Bars from Kazan.
