“Dynamo” opened the account of defeats – Newspaper Kommersant No. 167 (7368) of 09/10/2022

The ninth round of the Russian football championship opened with a match between the two winners of the previous championship. The silver medalist Sochi beat the bronze medalist Dynamo 2-1 at home, inflicted the first defeat on the Moscow club in the tournament and equaled them in points.
Sochi, apparently, terribly surprised those who closely follow Dynamo and studied its habits and features. One of them this season is to enter the game extremely tightly, extremely carefully. In the first half, the Dynamo were still almost impenetrable. And then they immediately fell under such a hail of cuffs that the goal, which had ripened already five minutes after the start of the meeting, looked absolutely logical – fires in the away penalty area arose even before it. Goal meanwhile matured gorgeous. Sochi residents drew on the lawn with passes on the lawn just an ideal combination, from a textbook, in which everything was on the case, on time and with taste – and Artur Yusupov’s long pass to the penalty area, and the series of short passes that followed him near it and inside were already short, in two touches , in touch. It all ended with a swoop by Georgy Melkadze, who neatly put the ball into the corner.
But Sochi did not stop. And the goalkeeper of Dynamo Anton Shunin, having hardly repelled the blow through himself of the same terribly “hot” Melkadze, who constantly scored in recent weeks, was sad when the goal was reached by an instant finishing touch in Sochi, and then took a breath: the side referee nevertheless saw an offside position.
But the new goal of “Sochi” nevertheless soon took place. And again – educational, such as to show by his example how to effectively cut someone else’s defenses.
The right flank of the Dynamo defense was cut, not understanding what to do with this “fan” rapidly turning towards the center.
Now it fell to Melkadze to play the role of the person to whom the decisive pass must be given. He gave it subtly – a little back, between the legs of Daniil Fomin, who was trying in vain to cover his opponent. And Christian Noboa was already rushing to the penalty line, who, of course, did not miss when shooting Shunin – composure has always been a hallmark of this midfielder.
Dynamo suffered, looking for ways to snap back. For the entire first half, on my own, by and large, I found the only one – when Vyacheslav Grulev was taken to the near corner. Sochi goalkeeper Soslan Dzhanaev, however, calmly closed it.
The hosts themselves helped the unsightly opponent to return the intrigue. More precisely, it was Dzhanaev who helped, even though one should not have expected a blunder from a veteran.
And the blunder was very rude. Dzhanaev for some reason decided to play with the ball thrown back to him by Artem Meshchaninov, spitting on the fact that Denis Makarov popped on him. Fortunately, such pranks rarely end. This turned into a goalkeeper’s loss.
For Dynamo coach Slavisha Jokanovic, Makarov’s luck did not give the impression that everything was not so bad. Immediately after the break, three players from the reserve appeared on the field – Daniil Lesovoy, Fedor Smolov and Matthias Norman, who had just transferred from Rostov. But the second half of the match still turned out to be the complete opposite of the first: there was a lot of struggle, but little sharpness. Dynamo squeezed out chances like that of Arsen Zakharyan, who shot above the crossbar, like water from a stone.
Sochi kept the victory, inflicting Dynamo’s first defeat in the championship, and caught up with the rivals, who had taken fourth place before the round, in terms of points scored.
Ninth round
Sochi-Dynamo 2:1
Melkadze, 6; Noboa, 11 – Makarov, 40.
