Dynamo hockey players will represent Karelia at the Golden Puck competition

On March 16, the final stage of the All-Russian competition of young hockey players “Golden Puck” among the teams of boys born in 2010-2011 starts in the Nizhny Novgorod region on March 16, the Ministry of Education and Sports of the Republic reports. Karelia will be represented by a team of students from the sports school No. 6 “Dynamo” under the guidance of coach Oleg Maksimov. The Petrozavodsk guys after the victory in the regional stage will take part in the “Polar” division.
The Golden Puck tournament first appeared in 1964 after the victory of the Soviet Union in the final of the Olympic Games. The final goal scored, donated after the hockey players to the newspaper “Pionerskaya Pravda” acquired the popular name “gold”, and this is how this hockey junior tournament appeared. Over the years, such eminent athletes as Vladislav Tretiak and Zinetula Bilyaletdinov participated in it.
