Dynamo defeated CSKA in the match for third place

Zenit came out on top in the Russian Football Championship. In the 16th round, the St. Petersburg team defeated Sochi with a score of 3:0 and scored 33 points. Dynamo, having beaten CSKA 3:2, retained third position with 28 points. Fourth with 27 points was Spartak, which defeated Baltika 2:0 under incessant snowfall.
The second round of the Russian Championship started with a match between “Wings of the Soviets” And “Lokomotiv”, which turned out to be very dramatic and ended in a completely unexpected way. After a 1:1 draw in the first half, when the Samara team responded to Sergei Pinyaev’s goal with a long-range strike under the crossbar by Fernando Costanzi, the railway workers, it would seem, did everything necessary to win. Rifat Zhemaletdinov, using assists from the same Pinyaev and Timur Suleymanov, scored a double, and he scored his second goal in the 84th minute. The Wings simply had no chance to avoid defeat. And even after Vladimir Pisarsky reduced the difference to a minimum in the fourth compensated minute out of six, they themselves probably did not believe in a favorable outcome for the hosts.
But the meeting dragged on, and in the 98th minute, Ilya Gaponov, in a duel with Evgeny Morozov, forced the latter to play with his hand, which led to a penalty against Lokomotiv. Based on the results of the investigation of the episode by the VAR team, and then with the personal participation of the chief referee Vasily Kazartsev, the penalty kick was made in the 102nd minute. Benjamin Garre performed it almost after the end of the match and equalized the score. The 3:3 draw was a real gift of fate for Krylia Sovetov, who temporarily rose to third place with 26 points, but the Muscovites did not hide their disappointment with both the result and the refereeing. Usually the extremely correct coach of the railway workers, Mikhail Galaktionov, commenting on the work of the referee, even allowed himself to use an obscene expression on television during an official flash interview. Such emotions are quite understandable, since Lokomotiv lost two points that were already in its pocket, and with 25 points they only caught up with CSKA and Dynamo before their derby.
Here “Zenith” calmly took his three points in the confrontation with the last team in the championship – “Sochi”. At the same time, the St. Petersburgers played the first half to their full potential. You would think they would be missing Premier League top scorer Mateo Cassierra and Gustavo Mantuan, who was absent through injury. Nevertheless, Rodrigao scored from a corner before the half-time whistle, and in the second half Wilson Isidore consolidated his success by running one-on-one with Sochi goalkeeper Nikita Goylo. And Claudinho had not yet converted the penalty, as in the warm-up, throwing the ball into the hands of the goalkeeper. But in the end, Andrei Mostovoy still scored the third goal for the guests. The 3:0 victory brought Zenit into first place with 33 points, despite the fact that former leader Krasnodar has an away match with Ural ahead.
In the derby CSKA—Dynamo third place was at stake. All that remained was to find out which of them would be on the horse. Although, taking into account the fact that the red-blue and white-blue were the leaders of the Premier League in draws (seven each), until Lokomotiv also caught up with them, a neutral result seemed most likely. Meanwhile, a quick goal from Dynamo’s Bitelo, who took advantage of a positional mistake by the army defenders and easily dealt with goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev, immediately revealed the game. Vladimir Fedotov’s team attacked more dangerously, so it is logical that after three chances from Anton Zabolotny and Fedor Chalov, they managed to achieve their goal.
True, Abbosbek Faizullaev’s goal itself looked illogical, because the Uzbek legionnaire hit straight at goalkeeper Igor Leshchuk, and it is unclear why he failed to return the ball. Then, in a much more obvious situation, Faizullaev shot just above the goal, but his cross to Zabolotny at the end of the first half came out flawless, and the army team still led – 2:1. Moreover, soon Faizullaev could have scored a second assist if Milan Gaich had not made a mistake in finishing. But the guests of VEB Arena had practically nothing to brag about other than a successful debut. If they hoped to simply retain a minimal advantage, then in vain.
In the second half, the omnipresent Faizullaev missed another good opportunity to score, while Dynamo caught the hosts with another defensive misstep. Konstantin Tyukavin threw the ball to Bitelo, and the unguarded Brazilian sent it into the net with a ricochet and bounce off the lawn.
The blue and white team noticeably improved with the appearance of Jorge Carrascal on the field, who seemed to be in a special mood for the match against his former club.
The Colombian took part in two scoring combinations, although in the second case he was rather lucky that the ball after his shot bounced to Tyukavin and the striker shot into the goal from close range. Dynamo won 3:2 and with 28 points again took third place in the table.
“Spartacus” met in Kaliningrad with “Baltika” against the backdrop of the unsightly statistics of performances on the road – one win and one draw in six matches of the first round, and therefore in the second round he will play away nine times. On the Baltic Sea coast, the red and whites also had to deal with difficult weather conditions. The Rostec Arena was literally covered with snow, and under this cover the grass was almost completely invisible. In the specific winter football, anything could happen, especially since the snowfall did not stop. It’s even surprising how subtly the visiting attacker Alexander Sobolev played along with Daniil Khlusevich in the opponent’s penalty area, who opened the scoring. And at the end of the second half, Sobolev also assisted Quincy Promes, passing him to an empty goal. Spartak turned out to be stronger in this snowy match – 2:0, which allowed it to jump over Lokomotiv, CSKA and Krylya Sovetov to fourth place with 27 points.
