The Telegram administration began taking measures four days ago to prevent the sending of messages calling for terrorist attacks. The creator of the messenger, Pavel Durov, spoke about this on Thursday, March 28.

According to Durov, Telegram has recently stopped tens of thousands of attempts to send messages calling for terrorist attacks, and has also blocked thousands of senders of such messages.

After the terrorist attack in the Crocus City Hall concert hall near Moscow, reports appeared that the performers were recruited through Telegram. This gave rise to rumors about the intention of the Russian authorities to block the messenger, with which a conflict situation had already arisen several years ago due to the refusal to hand over the decryption keys to the FSB – then the court decided to block Telegram in Russia

However, the head of the State Duma Committee on Youth Policy of the Russian Federation, Artem Metelev, assured that both the Telegram administration and Pavel Durov himself always respond very quickly respond to incidents and cooperate with law enforcement agencies, including blocking prohibited content.

At the same time, the speaker of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova ridiculed the statement of the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Kirill Budanov (listed in Russia as terrorists and extremists) that Telegram presents a problem for Ukrainian national security.
