Russian President Vladimir Putin said that since the beginning of 2023, about 350 thousand people have signed contracts with the Russian Ministry of Defense, including 5 thousand members of volunteer formations.

“Today there are already 335 thousand people who voluntarily came and signed contracts with the Ministry of Defense, and about 5 thousand more, even more, so-called volunteers. Although they are all volunteers… but this is simply a different category – contracts are signed for a shorter period. In general, this is already somewhere around 350 thousand,” the president said during a meeting of the Valdai discussion club.

He assured that the General Staff has no plans to conduct additional mobilization.
