Bird flu quarantine introduced in Kaliningrad and several suburban settlements
In Kaliningrad and several suburban villages and horticultural associations, a bird flu quarantine was introduced. The corresponding resolution was signed by the Acting Governor of the region Sergey Eliseev. Part of the territory of the regional center and about ten suburban settlements, as well as a number of gardening partnerships in the Guryev district, fell into the quarantine zone.
Quarantine introduced because of the dead seagulls on Lake Penkove on the outskirts of Kaliningrad. Two days ago, experts took a sample from the birds and then reported that they had died from highly pathogenic avian influenza.
Previously, restrictive measures for a similar reason were introduced in Moscow.
