Due to the cyclone, the roads of Primorye go under water, one village is cut off – Kommersant

As a result of a heavy downpour, rivers in some areas of the Primorsky Territory began to overflow their banks, water floods roads. The village of Sadovoye is cut off from transport links, informs press service of the government of the region. According to the regional Ministry of Transport and Roads, by the morning of June 9, the roads of the Pogranichny and Oktyabrsky municipal districts were damaged.

“In the morning, one settlement in the Border District turned out to be cut off – this is the village of Sadovoe. About 50 people live in it. There is an emergency bridge in front of the settlement and a temporary detour has been made. Here on this detour there is a serious overflow and traffic is closed for all types of transport. If it continues to rain, we will wait for the water to subside, but by the evening we plan to resume communication with the settlement, ”said Anton Gavrylyshyn, chief engineer of JSC Primavtodor.

Overflows from 15 to 60 cm deep and from 80 to 800 m long are observed at 3–4, 11–12, 15–18 km of the Grodekovo–Baranovsky–Sadoviy road, from 40 to 60 cm at 93 km of the Ussuriysk–Pogranichny–Gosgranitsa road depth and from 80 to 100 m long, on 15–20 km of the same route – up to 20 cm deep.

According to the regional hydrometeorological center, thunderstorms with rainfall up to 110 mm have passed in the region over the past day. In Vladivostok, in the Oktyabrsky, Border districts, “the level of precipitation has reached the criterion of a dangerous phenomenon.” In Vladivostok, 110 mm fell with a monthly norm of 104 mm, in Poltavka – 96 mm with a norm of 86 mm, in Pogranichny – 99 mm with a norm of 97 mm. A storm warning is in effect in Primorsky Krai.

“Due to the activation of atmospheric fronts in the morning and afternoon of June 9, on the night of June 10 in the southern half and on the eastern coast of Primorsky Krai, heavy rains are expected with an amount of 15–49 mm in 12 hours or less, local very heavy rains with an amount of 50 mm or more in 12 hours or less with a wind of 15–18 m/s, on the coast with gusts of up to 23 m/s”,— predict weather forecasters.
