As follows from the document of the Ministry of Education and Science, which I read RBC, the National Research Center “Kurchatov Institute” proposed to postpone the start of the creation of a proton beam therapy complex, scheduled for 2022. The reason for adjusting the terms for two years was the termination of the supply of necessary components from Finland.
“Manufacturers found themselves in the absence of the materials necessary for the manufacture, were forced to significantly change the timing of deliveries in order to buy time to find new suppliers,” the document explains. The Kurchatov Institute also offered to redistribute 355 million rubles. project budget. In total, 1.83 billion rubles were allocated for the creation of the complex in 2021. It was assumed that if the launch of production takes place in the second half of 2022, the complex will open in 2025.
Like in March found out “Kommersant”, after the start of the military operation in Ukraine in Russia, there is a shortage of technologies and equipment necessary for the treatment of oncohematological patients. In the spring, cooperation with Russian medical organizations was suspended by the German company Miltenyi Biotec, whose technologies are used by the Dmitry Rogachev National Medical Research Center for Pediatric Hematology, Oncology and Immunology to treat blood cancer in children.
About whether Russia will be able to treat cancer patients without the support of the West – in material “Y-Science”.
