Duda spoke about the possible transfer of up to 100,000 NATO soldiers to Poland in case of a threat

In the event of a threat, up to 100,000 soldiers can be transferred to Poland, such a plan was adopted by NATO member countries. This was announced by the President of the Republic, Andrzej Duda, following the results of the NATO summit in Vilnius.

“If there had been an attack on the Brest Gates [со стороны Бреста в Белоруссии]then one could expect that about 100,000 NATO soldiers would be sent to our territory for immediate defense, ”he said (cit. by Polish radio 24).

In addition, warehouses with weapons will be placed on the territory of the country to ensure the rapid deployment of troops. Duda noted that there are now about 10,000 NATO soldiers on the territory of Poland, which are mainly represented by US military personnel.

This decision was made after the deployment of Russian tactical nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus, Duda explained. According to him, from now on, a section on the border between Poland and Belarus, about 80 km wide, also called the Brest Corridor, will be under special control.

On March 25, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that, at the request of Minsk, Russian tactical nuclear weapons (TNW) would be deployed in Belarus. He drew an analogy to how the United States also transfers weapons to its allies in Europe.

Defense Ministers of Russia and Belarus Sergei Shoigu and Viktor Khrenin signed documents in May that determine the procedure for keeping Russian tactical nuclear weapons in a special storage facility on the territory of Belarus. Shoigu explained the decision to send nuclear weapons to the neighboring republic by the activity of NATO nuclear missions, in particular in the European Union. On June 27, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko announced that most of the tactical nuclear weapons had already been delivered to the territory of the republic.
