Dubai urges visitors not to drink or kiss

The Dubai Police (UAE) has released a brochure with recommendations for visitors to the upcoming World Cup.
The World Cup is held in Qatar, but most of the fans arrive in the neighboring United Arab Emirates, where an international fan festival is held.
Among the main recommendations is to avoid drinking alcohol in public places. Visitors are also asked not to be zealous with a public demonstration of tender feelings for each other. Guests are also asked to “discreetly express enthusiasm”, respect local laws and avoid sports fanaticism.
Fans are also asked to show emotions only in designated areas, not to disturb others, to respect the privacy of others, and not to get involved in photography. They are reminded that they are coming to a “tolerant state” and must respect its culture. It is also reminded of the inadmissibility of insulting any religions, any discrimination and political debate.
Separate warnings concern visits to “unlicensed massage parlors” where prostitution can flourish, as well as a ban on the use or distribution of drugs.
Qatar became the first Arab and Muslim country to receive the right to host the World Cup. It will run from November 20 to December 18.
