Drones destroyed a polling station in the Zaporozhye region

As a result of a drone attack in the Zaporozhye region at night, one polling station was destroyed, no one was injured, said Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission Nikolai Bulaev.

“Today in the Zaporozhye region, on the night after a drone attack, a polling station was destroyed, but it was 02:05 <...>, and none of the commission members were there. It’s clear that the goal is to intimidate people so they don’t go to work,” said he (quote from TASS).

Elections from September 8 to 10 are being held for the first time in new regions – the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. Acting Governor of Zaporozhye region on the evening of September 9 toldthat by the end of the second day of voting, the turnout in the elections of deputies to the Legislative Assembly and municipalities was 53.01%. According to him, there are more than 200 election commissions in 15 municipalities, voting takes place calmly, and people “greet the commissions kindly and actively take part in the elections.” Security during the voting is provided by the police and the Russian National Guard, he added.

Earlier, the head of the CEC, Ella Pamfilova, said that the commission may postpone elections in some areas of the new regions at the last moment if the situation worsens and a threat to the safety of voters arises.
