Dmitry Artyukhov elected governor of Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug – Kommersant

Governor of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug by secret ballot elected Dmitry Artyukhov (“United Russia”). The majority of deputies of the district legislative assembly voted for him. Mr. Artyukhov has served as governor since 2018.
“21 ballots were produced. There were 17 votes for Dmitry Andreevich Artyukhov,” said Igor Gerelishin, chairman of the counting commission of the Yamal legislative assembly (quoted by RIA Novosti). The inauguration ceremony for the governor of Yamal will take place on the afternoon of September 10.
Dmitry Artyukhov is 35 years old. In May 2018, Russian President Vladimir Putin appointed Mr. Artyukhov as acting governor of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. On September 9, 2018, he was elected head of the region by a majority vote of deputies of the district legislative assembly and took office on the same day. Prior to this, Dmitry Artyukhov was deputy governor of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug for economic development and investment attraction.
