Driver’s licenses of the DPR, LPR and Ukraine can be used in Russia

On the territory of Russia, you can use driver’s licenses issued by the authorities of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, as well as Ukraine. This was announced by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.
“In accordance with the provisions of paragraph 12 of Art. 25 of the Federal Law of December 10, 1995 No. 196-FZ “On Road Safety”, persons permanently or temporarily residing or temporarily staying on the territory of the Russian Federation are allowed to drive vehicles on the basis of Russian national driver’s licenses, and in the absence of such – on based on national or international driving licenses,” said Irina Volk TASS.
Ms. Volk recalled that since August 8, registration and examination units of the Higher Educational Institution of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia have been working in the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. There you can exchange a Ukrainian driver’s license for a Russian one. According to her, since August 3.8 thousand people have applied for such a service.
