Driver missing arm after arrest for drunk driving was diagnosed with new gangrene

He may have to have his leg amputated.

Imprisonment in a special detention center for driving while intoxicated allowed the discovery of dry gangrene on the leg of a 39-year-old resident of Noginsk near Moscow. At the same time, at one time he was amputated for a similar reason… hand!

As MK learned, the man was sent to a correctional facility on September 19 by decision of the magistrate’s court. For drunk driving he was punished with 10 days of arrest. And the very next day the unfortunate driver began to complain of pain in his legs. The man explained that he froze them in the winter when he was riding an ATV, but did not seek medical help, hoping that the pain would go away on its own. The doctors who arrived at the special detention center were taken aback – even a quick examination led to the conclusion that the offender had developed gangrene and needed surgery. So after leaving the special detention center, surgeons are waiting for him.

The tragedy of the situation is added by the fact that the man is already a disabled person of the second group: when he was a teenager, his right hand was taken away. The guy had a simple fracture, but managed to get an infection in the wound and was eventually forced to give up the limb. At the same time, the citizen could serve himself and even drive a car – he was left-handed. Unfortunately, his disability did not prevent him from developing bad habits. The Noginsk resident became addicted to alcohol, beat up his drinking buddy in a fight and ended up in prison. Once released, he continued to deteriorate morally, and is now close to losing his leg.
