“Driver, courier”: Rogov spoke about the saboteur who followed Oleg Tsarev

The FSB detained an accomplice in the assassination attempt on Oleg Tsarev. He turned out to be a 46-year-old resident of Yalta, who worked for the SBU as a coordinator. He arranged surveillance of the politician, got a job at a sanatorium closer to him, and also organized a cache of ammunition that was used for the assassination attempt. “MK” understood the details.
According to the latest data, Oleg Tsarev’s condition can be considered stable, the threat to his life has passed.
A few days ago, an unknown person entered the territory of the sanatorium where Tsarev lived and shot the politician. The killer managed to escape, but today FSB officers managed to detain his accomplice, who was collecting data for the Ukrainian special services.
Published video recording interrogation of the detainee. “I was recruited in January 2023 by SBU officers to prepare an assassination attempt on public figure Oleg Tsarev, who lives in the city of Yalta, on the territory of the Kirov sanatorium,” says the man. “I received instructions on collecting information on the preparation of the assassination attempt on the movement and location of Oleg Anatolyevich, as well as on the selection of places for storing weapons.”
On job sites you can find many advertisements for workers at the sanatorium owned by Tsarev: from sound engineers and animators to drivers and lawyers, including those with accommodation on the territory of the sanatorium. It is possible that the saboteur was looking for a job that would give him enough time to spy on the ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy.
The saboteur, by his own admission, got a job at the sanatorium in February 2023 for “full access and transmission of information about the movements” of Tsarev. At the detainee’s home they found an explosive device, means of secret communication with the SBU, photographs of Tsarev, and diagrams of approaches to his places of residence and work.
The situation for MK was commented on by the head of the Zaporozhye social movement “We are together with Russia”, Vladimir Rogov, who is well acquainted with Tsarev.
“I think that this work did not present any difficulty for the coordinator,” says Rogov. “We clearly see the systematic and long-term work of the SBU, which has a whole staff of bandits and murderers.
The detainee had a whole legend: he was introduced into a boarding house, passed a personnel check, but it was conditional. Oleg did not have his own special service or security system. An indicative point is that the saboteur managed to organize surveillance of Oleg and create a cache for weapons. These people are ready to kill, but not ready to die, so after his arrest he immediately began to cooperate with the investigation and give confessions.
– Could there be other accomplices of this coordinator in Yalta?
– Anything is possible. Of course, the investigation will sort this out, but the expression “Watch yourself and be careful” is more relevant than ever.
– Will it be safe for Tsarev to continue living on the territory of the sanatorium after recovery?
– I think it is necessary to think about personal safety in terms of having people nearby who provide it at a professional level. Moreover, the state is now seriously concerned about this issue. On behalf of the Russian President, a lot of politicians, journalists and public opinion leaders received personal armed guards to ensure their safety.
– Do you have any guesses as to who the detainee could have worked at the boarding house?
– There is no particular problem in getting a job there, nor in gaining access to a person. I won’t guess who he was there, but a person engaged in any type of activity related to movement, be it a driver or a courier, comes to the attention of Western intelligence services through the SBU and is an object of recruitment from that side.
