The editor-in-chief of the Dozhd TV channel (recognized in the Russian Federation as a foreign media agent) Tikhon Dzyadko (included in the register of foreign individuals) spoke on the air of the Latvian LTV channel about the prospect of reinstatement of the previously dismissed channel host Alexei Korostelev.
He commented on the statement of the general director of the channel, Natalia Sindeeva (included in the register of individuals-foreign agents), who apologized to the employees who left the channel, asked them to return and called the decision to dismiss Korostelev for a live error meanness. According to him, Sindeyeva’s statement is her personal opinion, and she has no right to decide personnel issues for the editor-in-chief.
Dzyadko stressed that he is the chief editor of the TV channel, and that he is responsible for the editorial and personnel policy. According to him, Sindeeva, being the owner, has no right to interfere in editorial activities. The editor-in-chief of Dozhd added that the channel does not invite Korostelev back to work.
