In less than a week, the Israeli breast milk bank collected 30 liters of product. Alona has three children, the woman also joined this action.

“There are many groups for nursing mothers in Israel; they have been donating breast milk here for a long time,” says Alona. – When the war began, a request was published online: a 6-month-old girl, whose mother went missing at the Nova festival, needed breast milk.

Over the next days, newborn children whose mothers had died were rescued from the destroyed settlements. They also needed milk. A couple of days ago, an official statement from the breast milk bank came out saying that there is a big shortage of the product. Moreover, many breastfeeding women do not have enough milk due to stress, they also turn to donor milk.

According to the interlocutor, children of military women who voluntarily went to the front also need breast milk.

“They wrote on social networks the story of an officer who gave birth 3 weeks ago,” Alona continues. – But as soon as the war began, she put on her uniform and left the baby at home. Now this woman expresses milk several times a day, and an army driver takes it to her home.

Women all over the country are donating supplies they made for their own babies for the future. Some express it on purpose. One of my friends finished breastfeeding a couple of months ago, but now she has again accelerated her lactation in order to pump for donation.
