A patent for the invention was received by the Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences
A way to deliver donor blood and its components over long distances was found by scientists from the St. Petersburg Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Recently, the institution received a patent for an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) capable of carrying blood and its components.
As it became known to MK, the unmanned aerial vehicle will be a U-shaped structure. He will be able to independently take off and land according to a predetermined program. The engines that control the UAV will be on the “legs” of the U-shaped device, and two containers with blood or its components will be placed on the crossbar. According to the calculations of the inventors, the maximum payload mass will be 15 kg. The device will be able to fly at a speed of 15 m / s at a distance of 20-25 km.
The blood will be delivered in thermal containers firmly fixed to the device. At the same time, the inventors designed the fixation devices in such a way that they not only stay securely on the drone, but can also be easily removed.
