Pizza chain Domino`s delivered pizza to the Glastonbury Music Festival in the UK using a courier with a jetpack. The company said that it has been receiving orders from the festival for delivery for several years now, but it was impossible to carry it out before.
For the promotion, Domino`s teamed up with jetpack manufacturer Gravity Industries. The courier received an order at a nearby pizzeria, then flew over the field and landed near the concert venue. The headliner of the event was Elton John, and Domino`s decided to be inspired by his song “Rocket man”.
The company has not yet decided whether they plan to use jetpacks for couriers in the future, but said that this method could be the future of fast delivery services.
