Sergey Kuprik decided to spend his well-deserved vacation not at the resort, but in economic affairs. Having taken a short summer break from touring and humanitarian trains to Donbass, the singer plunged into construction work. In the house where the Kuprik family has been living for 7 years, the large porch needed to be repaired. History in a sense resembles a joke, but sometimes reality is no worse than any joke.

— Initially, we had a concrete porch with clinker tiles. But three years ago, when our Alabai were just growing up, for some reason they “fell in love” with him and began to gnaw with their teeth. First, they ripped open all the steps, then they ate the tiles, then they got to the very porch, gnawed through to the base. The view, of course, turned out to be unpresentable. And we decided to start restoring the porch, but there were problems with the craftsmen. So I had to wait, – said the artist. – You see, there are fundamental things in the house that should be trusted exclusively to highly qualified specialists. We already had experience when the builders turned out to be unskilled and after them everything had to be redone. This time I decided not to trust random people and patiently waited for the best stone specialist to be released.

– What kind of specialist?

“Three years ago we came to Donbass on a humanitarian mission and took part in the Immortal Regiment campaign in Donetsk. We got acquainted with the Minister of Housing and Public Utilities of the Republic. During the conversation, we talked about the fact that it is difficult to find a master who can make a porch well: either these are inflated prices, or unskilled workers … After a few handshakes, we were introduced to this master. During this time he moved to live in Russia. We found ourselves, we waited almost a year for him to finish work at other sites. Finally, he made it to our front porch. Of course, as the owner, I did not stay away from the process. We worked together on the porch repairs.

— That is, you also had a hand in the construction work?

Yes, it was interesting to me. The master told me about all the intricacies of choosing granite for the porch. I personally went to the factories, looked at different options. The most important thing was to learn how to choose the right pattern so that the result looks neat and aesthetically pleasing. I also personally grouted the seams when laying the tiles. In general, I try to personally put my hand to everything in my house. The porch was no exception. So, under the supervision of a professional, I became a bit of an expert in working with stone, I emphasized interesting building techniques that I will change on my own on simpler objects in the house.

– And what did the wife say about the results of the repair? Did she like it?

— Ekaterina was very pleased with the work performed. When we first moved into the house, she wanted every porch in the house to be granite. We went to this for a long time, and “thanks” to our dogs, we finally did what we had planned. The main porch was followed by three others. The basement of the house was also sewn up with granite.
