A 12-year-old stray dog found wandering in an English village has been missing for almost seven years. Writes about this CNN.
Volunteer non-profit organization Lost Dog Recovery South UK reported a small black dog running along a road near Crawley Down, a village in West Sussex, England.
Volunteers left a trap for the dog along with a tempting treat: warm fried chicken with pate.
At night she came to a trap and got caught
“She was understandably shocked and scared, but very tender,” rescuers said.
Using a microchip, they discovered that the dog’s name was Rose and that she had gone missing in March 2017, 24 hours after she was adopted from a shelter.
Rose’s original owners were contacted but they had moved, their circumstances had changed and they could no longer care for her.
“They are very happy that she is safe and unharmed, and, of course, they are sad that they cannot take her back,” the volunteers said.
Rose ends up getting help at Last Chance Animal Rescue in Edenbridge, a town in Kent, England.
The organization also noted that they received many requests to pick up Rose.
